How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since 1977. We are family owned and operated in Canada.

 

How long does it take to get my order?

We process all orders placed within 5 business days. Back ordered items will be shipped as soon as possible.  We will phone you and discuss your cabinet order specifics before we ship.  Inserts are customized for your sewing machine Brand and Model and may be shipped separately if we do not have a pattern.  Insert and Cabinet orders may take up to 6-8 weeks or more for delivery.

OCTOBER 31, 2024 ALL CABINET ORDERS PLACED WILL BE FILLED IN 12-16 WEEKS.  SINGLE INSERTS & CUTTING MATS 2-4 WEEKS.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

 Can I track my package?

You’ll get an order confirmation complete with your order number. In addition, most orders will get an e-mail with tracking information or a freight reference number when the order ships.  If you have concerns about the status of your order please call us 1-800-565-7557.  Email your order details to info@sylviadesign.com and a order confirmation will be sent back to you.  Include your physical address and the items that you are interested in ordering.  Orders are not currently being processed through the website.

Can I change my order?

Yes, just call us within 24 hours of placing your order. Remember, we will phone you too before we ship your original order.

Are your products new?

Yes!

 How long are these prices good for?

The current price is on the website. However, our prices are subject to change without notice, depending on our supply.

 

Do you add sales tax?

Yes, if necessary. We will discuss during our first phone call with you to verify your order.

Do your cabinets have a warranty?

Yes, and it can be viewed and printed from the home page of our website – sylviadesign.com.

Can I purchase from a local dealer Retailer?

Yes, if we have an authorized Sylvia Sewing Furniture Retailer in your market area. To find you nearest authorized retailer click on the “Dealer Locator” link on the sylviadesign.com website.

How can I get more information on a specific product?

If you cannot find the product information you are looking for, e-mail us info@sylviadesign.com or call  1.800-565.7557 in Canada Monday through Friday.

Do you ship overseas?

Sorry, no.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If you received your order and it is damaged, refuse the shipment and call us immediately 1.800-565.7557 in Canada. Please inspect contents before signing acceptance and note any package damage on the bill of lading.  If contents inside are damaged, refuse the shipment and don’t sign the waybill.

Shipping Policy

Availability

We ship our products from our warehouse in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  We ship most of our packages via freight truck and they are palletized and wrapped in plastic. Smaller items are shipped via UPS, Purolator, Loomis or the Postal Service. Please make sure that you give us an accurate street address that can be delivered to. Delivery quotes are for business days only.  Most shippers do not deliver on Saturday or Sunday and do not count those days in quotes. Because of the larger size of our products we do not ship anything via air. Shipping Information: Shipping within the United States and Canada only.

Alaska and Hawaii Addresses

Most items can be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii addresses, but the shipping cost will apply. After you order a product we will contact you with any additional shipping charges. If you do not like the additional shipping charges, any payment will be refunded immediately. Only specific shipping options may be available for some addresses. We will contact you if there are questions or concerns prior to shipping as well to discuss the order and shipping procedures.

Tracking Your Shipment

We will send you an email specifying the shipping method and tracking or reference number(s) for your order.

Shipping Charges

Orders shipped within Canada or to the U.S.A. will be charged any freight amounts above any freight allowances.  The shipping allowance will be applied to the freight charges only.  Any accessorial services required will be an additional charge.  Accessorial delivery services include power tailgate, private residence delivery, appointment prior to delivery, inside delivery, or two man delivery.  A power tailgate is required for all cabinet orders and the power tailgate charge may range from #30.00-$85.00 depending on your location and the availability of tailgate service.

Cabinet Shipping Policy

In order for cabinet orders to go as smoothly as possible, please read the following cabinet order specifications and conditions.

1. Sewing furniture ships via freight truck and not UPS or Fed Ex Ground. Because of this, someone needs to be at home to receive, inspect and sign for the product at delivery.

2. Provide us with as many phone numbers as possible to ensure that the shipping company can contact you and make a delivery appointment.

3. We will request that the freight truck will include lift gate and pallet jack service. Lift Gate will unload the product off of the end of the truck. Pallet jack service will roll the pallet of furniture up to your garage or porch as long as it is a somewhat flat surface from the road to the house. This ends the driver’s responsibility. The driver is not obligated to remove the cabinets from the boxes or to get the furniture inside the house.

4. When you sign the delivery receipt from the freight companies driver it is a legal contract that states that you received the product in acceptable condition. Always inspect your shipment thoroughly before signing for it. If you notice slight damage where a replacement part could be sent to you and you can install it, just note the damage on all copies of the delivery receipt and we will send you the replacement parts. If the product is damaged beyond this then refuse the shipment. It is your right to inspect your product. Do not sign for or accept the product if the driver does not allow you to inspect it. If the merchandise leaves the delivery location, you assume all responsibility. It will not be possible to file a freight claim. Freight claims on hidden or concealed damage rarely get approved so again always inspect your shipment thoroughly before signing for it. 5. Save your box and all packaging materials until you are certain that your cabinet and all accessories are in satisfactory condition.

6. If we need to ship replacements for damaged goods, we will ship them out as soon as possible. We cannot overnight or expedite your replacement shipment. Replacement of accepted damaged products will only occur when funds are received from the shipping company. If the freight claim is denied and you did not inspect the cabinet and have signed for it in good condition, the damaged product is your responsibility.

7.Remember to call us before signing for the product if you do not understand this delivery agreement. It is no problem. We will be happy to walk you through the steps.
